Shoppers will have a
new desirable store

desireFareham Shopping Centre is pleased to announce that Desire by Debenhams will be the newest addition to the scheme. Enabling work to create the two-storey retail outlet, alongside Bhs, looks set to start within weeks. The store will bring 20,000 square feet of fresh new retailing to the town’s main shopping area, along with a new, state-of-the-art multi-storey car park and three further units ranging from 1,000 to 6,000 square feet.

Robert Hadfield, Property Director at Debenhams, said, “With over 250,000 people visiting the shopping centre per week in December and the year-on-year footfall figures for January being on the increase, Fareham is going to be a great addition to the Desire brand.”

“I’m sure that Desire by Debenhams will cement Fareham as the shopping centre of choice for the local area adding to the excellent range of stores already trading here,” comments Pam Gillard, Centre Manager.

The new shop is due to open in 2008 with the other vacant units being marketed in the spring of this year. Temporary hoardings are now in place and these will be branded in the next few weeks.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Sean Woodward, said “I am delighted that Desire by Debenhams has signed up to Fareham Shopping Centre. We already have an excellent shopping offer in the town centre but the addition of this store brings with it even more reasons for people to shop in Fareham.
