Assistance with your mobility needs

Shopmobility, run by Fareham Community Action, is located in Osborn Road Multi-Storey car park. They are open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 4:30pm.

Shopmobility hires "Scooters" and electric Wheelchairs for people who need extra mobility around Fareham Town Centre. Training is given to all users.

The annual registration fee for members is £7.50. Once a member, you will pay £3.00 to use an electric scooter (or powered chair) for the day.

Manual chairs are £2.00 for the day.

When membership is taken, you automatically become a Wessex Shopmobility member.   This means that you can use the majority of the Shopmobility schemes in the Wessex area - it's great value!
 

Carers and disability information

Shopmobility also operates an information desk inside the Shopping Centre, offering advice and information for carers and disability. If unmanned, please visit the Shopmobility Centre at the basement of the Multi-Storey carpark.

 

Regular events at Fareham Shopmobility have been well supported in the last month

The Mayor and Mayoress enjoyed a healthy and enjoyable walk from the Shopmobility Centre through the Town Centre and up to Cams Hill for a walk around the Fareham Easy Access Trail. They were joined by Jessica Wooldridge and Jennie Romicheva from the Shopmobility Team and Fareham's Walking to Health Scheme, as well as 9 other participants. There were four mobility scooter users and three persons with a visual difficulty within the group.

Later the Mayor Trevor Cartwright and the Mayoress came along to support the Shopmobility S.U.P.A. Roadshow held in the Town Centre’s West Street. The aim of the Roadshow is to encourage scooter users to drive responsibly, understand the law regarding scooter use and to ensure their scooter is checked for safety and suitable for the person using it.

As you can see there’s lots going on at Fareham’s Shopmobility. Please remember that you do not have to be registered disabled to use the service, as we are there to help anybody with mobility difficulties!!
