Fareham Shopping Centre dazzled young shoppers with a whole host of circus entertainment last weekend, and in doing so raised £700 for the RSPCA’s Stubbington Ark. The occasion was such a success it could become an annual feature in Fareham Shopping Centre’s event calendar.

Shoppers crowded into the Centre to watch Charlie the Clown, who mesmerised children with his juggling and plate-spinning, as well as the crazy antics from Nolan Davis who held regular magic shows throughout Saturday and Sunday. The Balloon Man also wowed fans with his amazing balloon sculptures and Face2Face busily made-up children’s faces in all manner of creative and colourful designs. Music, competitions and a prize tombola all added to the fun atmosphere.

Vanessa Eden from Stubbington Ark helped out on both days and commented: “We are very grateful to Fareham Shopping Centre for all their hard work in organising such a wonderful weekend, and also to the shoppers who donated so generously. Stubbington Ark receives no government funding or lottery grants, so we rely on charity donations to keep the Centre running.”

Although the circus acts have finished, there are still prizes from the Early Learning Centre and Marks & Spencer to be won. The Centre’s Big Top Colouring Competition runs until 4pm on Sunday 1st November and entrants have until then to get creative with their crayons and return their entries to the entry box opposite Vision Express.
