Fareham Shopping Centre marked the start of the summer season with its popular Summer Showcase last weekend. Shoppers stopped to take in all the latest High Street trends and enter the numerous competitions on offer.

On Saturday, shoppers turned out to watch two catwalk shows which presented this season’s fashion trends, along with a whole host of other exciting products including mobile phones, flowers and pushchairs, from a selection of the Centre’s big name stores. Fashion retailers Bon Marche, New Look, M&S, Bhs, M & Co, Gravity and JR Fashions were all involved in the event, along with Shoe Zone, Vision Express, Carphone Warehouse, Boots, Millets and Alpha Storage. BB’s Coffee and Muffins gave out free mini muffins to onlookers, making sure no-one went hungry. Music, balloon modelling and face painting also kept younger shoppers entertained as others watched the shows.

Boots ran a “Luscious Lips Competition” and one lucky winner took home a hamper full of beauty products. The Stubbington Ark (RSPCA animal welfare service), was in attendance to collect donations and offer information on its invaluable work. The charity also ran a raffle to raise money for the upkeep of the service, and the winner of the first prize, a Portsmouth FC football shirt provided by the Portsmouth FC Store, has been informed.

Pam Gillard, Centre Manager, says: “The event went entirely as planned and we successfully raised almost £300 for Stubbington Ark, our chosen charity. I would like to thank all the retailers involved in the event, along with those who helped to organise it, for making the Showcase such a success.”
